Unreleased Mac Games

Anyone know of any unreleased games for the Macintosh?

I can name at least one from Ambrosia: Manse.

Development seems to have been started around 1996, and was last heard from in 1998.

It reached a beta stage in 1997, but then was being reworked in 1998 to take advantage of Quickdraw 3D RAVE.

It hasnot been heard from since that AT issue.

Aside from that, there is Half Life (of course) and a port of UMK3 (yes, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3) David Wareing was working on.

Duality from Double Aught, the team that put together the lion's share of Marathon Infinity.

If Marathon was the Mac's answer to Doom, Duality would have been the Mac's answer to Quake. Duality's plot and world are hinted at in Infinity's cryptic dream terminals, and one secret multiplayer map.

A massive dump of images was assembled into an album on Flickr. There's wireframe models of levels, concept art, images from design documents, textures, and much more.

Unfortunately, the mac clone that all the images and binaries came from died recently, and the man who put together this treasure has made it clear to me that everyone's moved on.

Some more content, including some tiny screenshots and music, can be found on an early version of Courtney Evans' resume.

Yet more background can be found on the Marathon's Story forums. Though all the links in this post are dead, the Internet Archive can help pull together some of the missing pieces.

Barring any ports, Morphworld was totally cancelled. See more here.

Another unreleased Ambrosia SW game.

Ragnarok

An original game that used OpenGL, which looks like a flight sim.
