Vintage Mac Software Download

Hello, I'm relatively new to the vintage Mac scene. To date, I am a vintage Apple II guy and have 5 of them set up through the house to play with, and even two wither Uther cards (ethernet access on my IIgs systems).

Anyway, I would like to start downloading vintage Mac software onto a couple I purchased recently. I am particularly interested in getting software downloads from the Internet to my Mac Color Classic. I have Stuffit loaded on my modern Mac with OS X 10.6.4.

Can you tell me, or point me to a link that gives step by step instructions on downloading images or Stuffit files, like those from this awesome site, to my modern Mac, onto a USB floppy drive I have (1.44) and then to the Color Classic? Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi Vapor, try the Guides section on this site to start off with. There are 3 emulators of note [vMac, Basilisk II and Sheepshaver] and you'll need to get these beasts running on your Intel mac first. You'll need a copy of a mac rom as well to get them working.

I'm currently trying to get my PowerMac 8100 and SE/30 networked and online and learning lots about macs along the way. I suggest that you beef up your Color Classic as much as you can. Watch eBay like a hawk and bid what you need — LC PDS network cards, VRAM, RAM, faster SCSI-harddrives and 50pin-68pin or 50pin-80pin adaptors and so on.

I have many spares at this point and I may be help you if you need parts.
