A full install of Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition CD edition for 68k & PPC Macintosh - minus the music files. The archive also contains a "No CD patch" so you can install and run the game without a CD loaded to enable play.
Top DL for DN-3D installer (35.18 MB) of the game only (without music files)
MD5 checksum: 5be0c993089009c2db1e7d983db9a52e *duke-n-3d-mac.sit
DL is a Disk Copy 6 ".ISO" compatible disk image, in Stuffit 5.5 archive (.sit)
Takes a while to extract this .sit, so go make a coffee.
For those wanting to play Duke with the original music score, this is included as a seperate 375 MB DL in the 3rd link above (external link).
The music for the Duke is in a .zip archived .iso - To access this in a Classic Mac OS, use MacZip or similar to extract, and the "Virtual DVD-ROM/CD Utility" available from here to mount the image, for use during play. This file is 500 MB when extracted from the .zip enclosure.
MD5 checksum: c62f55efd8da53de6220fbc5879b398f *music-score-dn-mac.zip
Additionally, both the installer and the music files can be burned to CD, plus provision to reunite the two into a single CD also made (but not necessary), read the ReadMe file in the .sit DL for more info.
The other 2nd DL above (6.01 MB) is a demo of Duke Nukem 3D, untested, unknown if it is for 68k, PPC or both.

- Euryale
CompatibilityArchitecture: Power PC and 68040 ('040 68k) CPUs
Minimum requirements: Macinintosh 68040 CPU, or any PPC CPU. Mac SSW 7.1 to Mac OS 9.2.2
Runs well on Basilisk II and SheepShaver emulators (mouse control is not so hot under emulation tho').
NB To install on 68k Mac you have to choose the Custom Installation and check the 68k box & uncheck the PPC box (in the custom install dialog window).
Run in 256 colors.
Comments
I am having trouble using mouse targeting running the game under Mac OS 9. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks Euryale. Any chance of doing something similar with your copy of the Carmaggedon CD (maybe bin/cue to get game and audio together)? I am happy to host both your file here, and a suitable Carmaggedon image, in a more "permanent" manner.
Euryale you are aewsome
No.
nothing?
is there another link to the iso ver
Done!
Yes, thank you. This is an excellent game.
However This CD iso is for both PPC and 68k! - I'm not complaining. This is a bonus!
I just installed it on my Centris 660av - You need to do a Custom install to get the 68k option.
The title above needs changing, as do the PPC only architecture ratings(Edit 2 - done). five stars from me[Edit] 68k here means 68040, it won't run on earlier 68k CPU's. It also runs on Basilisk II (set to 256 colors, running as an '040 Mac) - Just tested this out too. - it runs much smoother on my Basilisk II setup up than on my actual Centris
Can´t believe this one is still up on Megaupload
I had forgotten about it.
Thanks!
Why not just use The Unarchiver? (If you are under OSX) It replaces BOMArchive Helper and does a lot more.
I have graphical corruption if I clean up the last secret area in E4L1 when using high resolutions and it stays unless I save, exit and load it again. Is it normal?
There is an unrar application for Mac OS X, http://www.unrarx.com/, probably others, too.
P.S.
Good idea about
This helps us a lot.
I might add RAR, or better yet, 7zip, to the allowed formats list then. I'll have to do some tests first, though.
You are welcome, but I've used Mediafire for over a year with no problems whatsoever.
anyway if that ever happens, We'll figure something out
the problem uploading this game as a single .img.sit file is that it takes over 400Mb
that's one of many reasons I did it that way.
@Maedi: this may be a good way to save bandwidth but the files don't get preserved. Mediafire can delete files at will. I might re-upload it here in th future.
Good way to save bandwidth, thanks!
