I thought I'd killed the Ghost Pirate LeChuck for good. Wrong. How many times can that bloated old fool die? Other pirates tell me there's no escape. "When LeChuck wants you dead, you're dead," they say. Legend has it that the treasure of Big Whoop holds the key to great power...I must find it before LeChuck finds me.

Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge is an adventure game developed and published by LucasArts in 1991. It was the second game of the Monkey Island series, following The Secret of Monkey Island, and the sixth LucasArts game to use the SCUMM engine. It was the first game to use the iMUSE sound system.
The development team for the game was largely the same as for the first game in the series. The project was led by Ron Gilbert, and he was once more joined by Tim Schafer and Dave Grossman. LeChuck's Revenge is considered by critics to be among the best of LucasArts' adventure games.

Also the picture is from dos version. The Mac version has smaller "cross cursor" and the remains of the boat in the middle are missing. Mac version has also greater sound/music quality but the lucky dos users can use a roland mt32.
My favourite adventure game. Runs also great on my Imac G3 but on my Mac Performa 6116 (without the Sonnet Nubus G3 drivers installed) is slow because the game is not ppc native. Greater graphics than dos version but if you don't want the graphic smoothing type the word 'rough' in the game. The same with Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
I know only German PC version, and it runs fine in ScummVM.
Anyone knows whether there has ever been made a German language version of this game and its predecessor? I see the screenshot above is Spanish, so maybe there were multilingual versions? My little nephew is 10-years now and it seems like the perfect game to introduce him to the wonderful world of Point & Click adventures
Really nice! Thank you MCP!

Here's a mirror for Monkey Island 2:

Here´s a patch I think is unofficial. It makes it possible to run MI2 in OS9 IIRC. It might correct other bugs but I can´t remember. Anyway; http://data.fuskbugg.se/skogsturken/Monkey%20Island%202%20Le%20Chuck%B4s...
I tried running it, and sometime I think in the second chapter, a music track continually loops. Over and over again. I heard it's correctable via SCUMMVM but I don't know a fix for the regular version.

I haven't tried running it in the emulated environment but runs fine in OS 9. Mac OS X users should use ScummVM instead.
Runs well in both Basilisk II and SheepShaver, running SSW 7 or later. Although the sound is not so hot in the emulated environment. This is a noted problem with the emulators.
It's a great adventure game. Better than the original Monkey Island.
Edit: Changed 'xxx 7' to 'SSW 7' - IIGS User
