"A sequel in name only, this follow up to id’s 1996 Quake, is a first-person shooter revolving around the Earth-Strogg war. The Strogg alien race threatens the Earth, but Earth has launched a counter-offensive, Operation Alien Overlord. Overlord takes the battle to the Strogg homeworld with the ultimate objective of securing their capital city and killing their ruler.
As a FPS, Quake II contains a variety of weapons including the fall back Blaster, the Railgun, and the secret BFG10K. Health, armor, and ammunition pick-ups can be found during levels, as can the classic Quake’s Quad Damage power-up. Game play involves mowing down alien opponents as the player progresses through levels, completing in-game objectives. Quake II also comes with multiplayer support for Deathmatches." --MobyGames.com

man i wish i could download this
I made a new archive of Quake II using what was uploaded here originally and adding other stuff I was able to find on the web, and zipped it all into a smaller file for download. The site wouldn't let me upload the archive, but I've made the mirror available.
UPDATE: new archive is now uploaded to the site
It doesn't require a key ; )
Is there a key included?
does thie version have the ability to do online play like quake 3?
Milestones your always there to save the day. Thanks again for the upload.
I haven't experimented as much as I want with this, but I do know that Toast 5 Titanium can save the two disc partitions separately. Drag the Audio CD onto Toast and click on "Save as image", likewise with the data partition. I've run into weirdness when I tried to do them together before, but then I didn't spend enough time with it. Toast 5.2.3 might be more capable in this regard than 5.0.2. The problem is I haven't found a way to mount an audio CD for gameplay, though it can be burned to a recordable CD.
Hey j_damage•69, do you still have the original Quake II CD?
Don't run it from the disk image.
It runs, but I am unable to save my game, as it crashes when I attempt to do so.
It uses the same data files, but I bet...
It's better to upload a virgin copy of the original CD image as a Disk Copy image, because this way both owners of old Macs and Mac OS X users can play the game. The only problem is that Mac OS X users must download the binary for their system separately, but that's peanuts.

Wouldent the original Quake 2 app work with the data files already in there? Or has it been modified in some way but the OS X update?
Then be my guest and upload it!
I have the original Mac Quake 2 CD.
Can somebody upload the original Quake II for Mac? It's for Mac OS 7.5 and up.
And please don't upload bundles! If there's a Mac OS X binary of a classic game, a link to the developer's page is better.
