There are several restore-based system software CDs are available in this site. However, there are some difficulties to restore the Performa Software for Macintosh emulators. This guide shows you how to restore the Performa software to the real Performa hardware or in emulators.
The first version of Apple Backup and Apple Restore are released in March 1992 along with Mac OS 7.0.1P and came with the Utilities floppy disk and the hard disk copy floppy disks. It was used to back-up all of the data from damaging. Here is the tale of success by using the Apple Backup application version 7.0.1P and 9.2.2:

Starting with Mac OS 7.1P6, the Apple Backup and Apple Restore programs are updated with the minor fixes and more. With the release of Mac OS 7.1P6 or later, it will be the first Macintosh Performa restore utility is included on the CD-ROM named Macintosh Performa CD, as well the two new programs are available to restore software from the CD-ROM called "Restore All Software" and "Restore System Software" and a simple booklet show how to restore the Performa CD. The Macintosh Performa CD uses the CD facing with the black background with the Apple logo in grey, the name of the specific model in red print, the font icon, trash icon, clipboard icon, application icon, Happy Mac icon, and the cursor in the grey, the Macintosh Performa CD title and "Includes system software and other programs" print in red, the copyright information and date in black print, and the country recorded, system software version, CD version, and the part number in black print.
Starting the year 1995 (as of Performa 631CD restore CD), the Apple Backup and Apple Restore software has been replaced by the two programs are called "Restore All Software" and "Restore System Software" and it's only available on the CD-ROM form only. In 1996, Apple also made the another restore CD called the Guided Tour CD. This CD is designed for beginners of the Macintosh Performa such as Mouse Basics and more. The last version of Performa CD before it was replaced with Apple Software Restore CDs is Power Mac 6500 series home edition with System 8.0.
However, the Performa software can be used on the specific Performa model and there are some of the difficulties available to restore software in Macintosh emulators (like Basilisk II and SheepShaver). Below to see the guidelines to restore the Performa software.
In order to determine which Performa CD is suitable for the Performa model, look at the disc label that shows the corresponding model. Look at the example below:

Look at the upper red text below the Apple logo. If this is shows "5200 series", then the restore CD is for any Performa 5200 series (5200cd, 5215cd, etc.) but with basic bundle only (despite the discs for the corresponding model family such as 5215cd may have different bundles).
Several Performa discs are also available in this site, you can choose it below which matches from your Performa model, download it, burn in to the CD, and restore it.
In order to restore the all software in the real, vintage Mac Performa hardware, please follow these steps. This process is very recommended for real Macintosh hardware, you can also try this in your PowerBook/PowerMac/68K Mac.
Some emulators such as Basilisk II and SheepShaver fails to use Restore All Software, Restore System Software, and Apple Restore application because these emulators are using the ROM routine patch to identified the hard disks as non-SCSI and large floppy disks, known as internal drive. By the way, here is the trick to restore the Performa software manually for use of emulators. Also, most restore CDs does not boot from restore CD or hard disk (after restore the software) successfully in emulators, so let's take a look at the compatibility list below:
- If the Performa CD is for 5xx or 63x, the restore CD or hard disk will boot in Basilisk II and vMac, but not SheepShaver (7.5.3 update required).
- If the Performa CD is for 611x, 5xxx, 6xxx, the restore CD or hard disk will not boot in all emulators unless the System file is replaced to add 68K code from Mac OS 7.5 (excluding 6320cd+) or to update 7.5.3 or 7.5.5.
- If the Performa CD is for 54xx and 64xx, the restore CD or hard disk will boot in SheepShaver, but not Basilisk II and vMac (7.5.5 update required).
- If the Restore CD is for 4400, the restore CD or hard disk will not boot in all emulators unless the System file is updated to 7.6.1.
- If the Restore CD is for 5500 and 6500, the restore CD or hard disk will boot in all emulators without sufficient restrictions.
Here is the steps how to restore the Performa software in emulators:
Some Macintosh Performa CDs (such as Performa 630 series DOS restore CD) may does not have the "Hard Disk Files" folder due for technical and space reasons and the old Performas (like LC III Performas) may use the floppy version of Performa software restore. These methods are not compatible by Basilisk II, however, there are the steps below of the working method to restore the Performa Software on Basilisk II for Microsoft Windows.
If you using Windows
If you using Mac OS X on Intel Macs
There are no working method are available to restore the Performa software on Basilisk II for Mac OS X on Intel Macs if the CD does not have the Hard Disk Files folder or to restore software using floppy disks. However, you can use the Windows method if you are using the PC emulators like VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop for Mac or via Boot Camp. You can make the Basilisk II hard disk image on the Mac and copy the hard disk file to the virtual machine running Windows XP/Vista/7 with the visualization additions installed via drag-and-drop.
If you using Mac OS X on PowerPC Macs
Find the resources yourself.
If you using Linux and other OSes

Comments
I grabbed the 6200CD disc image, burned it with Toast 5.2.3 in OS 9.2.2 but I do not see a system folder on the CD and it does not boot my actual Performa 6200CD. Am I missing something?
Need to find more hard disk images that is from Performa software.
Note about the Apple Restoration CDs: It uses the special installer, which uses to restore to the factory configuration. Inside the Volume III 06-94 has the Performa hard disk configurations and the 7.1.2P Utilities disk image.
Regarding emulators (and somethin' else),
I've zipped all the hard disk images in use...
FuseHFS works well, but be sure to back up your data. It has destroyed partitions a few times for me.
Yes, FuseHFS is a very interesting piece of software...
How about using FuseHFS on OSX?
