I have heard that Baldur's Gate just doesn't work on SheepShaver. True or untrue?
If untrue... um, any suggestions? It just makes sheepshaver quit every time I try to start it.

I think you need the original CD anyway.

@firefist: Not saying this will work, but it may be worth trying. Make a CD image of BG, Create a drive container for SheepShaver large enough to hold the CD image and move the CD image into it. Mount the drive container in SS as a secondary drive. Running in SS, mount the image using this utility. Try to play the game.
You could also try setting the display colors in SS to 256 before running the game.
Also turn off any networking in the SS GUI before launching SS

Nice workaround Mike Tom Tom! What you pointed out is working with my iMac. I am unsure about SS still, if Baldur can be fooled to think the CD is where it should be. Still your post is certainly useful for some other games, that wont run without its original media.
