Basilisk ii meets actual floppy drives

Another question for you excellent folk - I have basilisk ii running great on my mac book pro 10.8.4 machine. I have a bunch of games on actually physical floppy drives. I have a USB external floppy drive that doesn't work with my mbp, and my 1999 orange imac tries to initialize the floppy. Is there a way to get around this?? (I also have a PowerMac 80/100 with a working floppy drive and broken cd drive.)

Thanks again!

There seem to be some workarounds: http://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7031
I would second the solution with creating DC images on your PPC8100 and move the images over some kind of network.
Thats what I did with some SQ555 and MO media.

1. Let's work out if it's a moot exercise, what games are they ? if someone else here has them too, you could grab them from there.
2. Are they 800K or 1.4M floppies ? It may a lost cause with 800K floppies and a PC USB drive, which reads 720K and 1.4M floppies is never going to be able to read Mac 800K floppies, which require CLV rather than CAV ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constant_linear_velocity )
3. Does the PowerMac recognise the floppies ?
