Hey, the Basilisk II for OS X setup guide at MacScene that I linked to when I wrote the "guides" section of Macintosh Garden is now offline. That's really sad. I linked to that one a lot on my site a lot, too.
I don't think it is coming back.
Does anyone here want to write a new one? I'm really a Windows sort of guy myself, so I can't do it. But it would be good for new users of Mac Garden to have some help.

I think it's the same thing, Basilisk and Sheepshaver are the same
as far as setting up and GUI's, just change the names.
just like Windows, the setup procedure is exactly the same for both.
I suppose it will have to do, although there are a few points where a new user might benefit from an adapted version of the guide.

The steps for getting BailiskII or SheepShaver running on MacOSX are identical to the steps necessary on Windows. What you need most, is a preference GUI. I have copies of both BasiliskII_GUI and SheepShaverGUI (and SheepShaverPrefs) if you think it would be useful posting them here... or even posting the entire apps (with GUI's). This will probably break the EULA about redistributing the software 'as-is'.
This of course breaks the "no OS X software" rule too

Not the entire apps, because they're in active development.
Perhaps a simple PDF with a step by step guide with pics on setting it up. Once you've done it a few times it's a lot less daunting.

That one there was not written by myself, but by another site contributor.
Meanwhile, I am travelling about and am not so active on this site. Haven't had time to test out any games/add screenshots and data since the beginning of the month.
