BasiliskII for iBook G4

Hi,

I'm trying to install BasiliskII on my iBookG4 to play Factory: Industrial Revolution.

I'm using this guide: http://emaculation.com/doku.php/basiliskii_osx_setup

I got to step 6 with no problem but on step 7 I noticed my Settings window doesn't have a JIT Compiler tab. I carried on anyway and got to step 8. The only problem being when BasiliskII loads up it has only three icons on the desktop and it's missing the Unix icon that should give me access to the shared folder.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks in advance.

Steph.

Wouldn´t you be better off running Tiger with Classic mode?

BII should of course offer the "Unix" volume with OS greater than 7.1 by default.
In case you booted with a OS7.1 floppy image the Unix folder is not available.
If you booted from a 7.5.3 HDD image try to specify a dedicated shared folder instead of the root directory, selected by / in the path requester.

For setting up OS7.5 you may also try one of the CD images here:

Last time I tried, my PPC7100 System disk installed a OS for Basilisk flawlessly. Wink

I think the Just In Time compiler was deselected on purpose in PPC builds as there were sound problems.

Make sure you have the BasiliskIIGUI.app installed.
That's how you assign both the unix and virtual apple disks.
Make sure you have the path name complete.
