Color build Mini vMac+Lemmings?

I've gotten some experience with building vMac wrappers in System 6 with AutoQuit (it's awesome) but I want to know how to make something in color, and run it with Lemmings.

First off, I am now aware that System 6 will run in color. Will Lemmings run in color AND in the low resolution of a native Mac Plus? Any suggestions on color builds of Mini vMac? It's probably quite simple but it's late and I just want to know if anyone else has done this before I try it.

The Mac II builds of Mini vMac are rather good, allowing you full 24 bit color or any color range from 1 bit to 24 bit, plus 8 MB RAM - Requires a Mac II '020, ROM of course (accepts ROMs from IIfx and other earlier Mac II's).

Haven't tried Lemmings on it tho'. I presume for color it would require the 256 color build of Mini vMac II.

OK, so I'm thinking of doing a custom build: Mac II (not Mac Plus), 256 colors, 8MB RAM. Timing shouldn't be an issue should it?

Other issue: will Color!Lemmings run in that low a resolution? I suppose I could test it in Basilisk II and lowering the resolution to equivalent of a Mac Plus and seeing if it runs.

Most old games run in 265 color or less.

Anyway, I have the boxed set of Lemmings, and its manual states:
"Lemmings only supports monochrome or 256 colors, you should not run your Macintosh in "Thousands" or "Millions" of colors graphics modes while playing Lemmings."

The manual also states for minimum Mac OS's:
"You must be running at least System 4.1 for b/w graphics and System 6.0.5 with 32-bit Color QuickDraw for color graphics."

I didn't realize there were working Mac II builds of Mini vMac. Is there somewhere I can download one (rather than building it myself, since I don't have Xcode and am not exactly eager to try to use it)? I found a Mac SE build somewhere the other day, but now all I can find is the regular Mac Plus build.

EDIT: Never mind, I found it. I'll make a hard drive image for it and put it up on our Ready-to-Go page. It is much more sluggish than the Plus and SE builds, though!

I've just successfully tested it in color Mini vMac at 512x384 (Color Classic resolution) and 640x480 (Mac II build default).

You can request custom variations from the developer, and he'll post them within a day or two. You can also browse the last few hundred he's uploaded; the basic 256-color Mac II version is currently available for both Windows and Intel OS X.

There’s a build of Mini vMac as a Mac II, 8 MB RAM, 512 x 342 in colour available here:
