Deja Vu not opening in vMac 7.01

Hi Folks,

Question for anyone who might know: I'm trying to play DejaVu 1 & 2 on my vMac setup with 7.0.1, but it doesn't seem to be parsing the filenames correctly. Whenever I try to drag and drop a disc that has the game and its files spelled "Déjà Vu", the only file that shows up on the mounted disc is a folder called "De" that is empty. I figured it was having a problem working with the accented letters in the filename, but whenever I change the names of the files to "Deja Vu", the files appear in the .dsk image, but when I try to click on "Play Deja Vu" it tells me that it can't find the file "Deja Vu game" or that it is corrupted. I'm guessing that the "Play Deja Vu" app is looking for something spelled "Déjà Vu" and when it can't find it, it errors out.

So, does anyone know how I can get this game to play (Déjà Vu 2 also has the same problem)? Will it take adding something into the system to get it to play? I honestly don't think I have the system set up right on my vMac, as no HDD exists and I don't have a control panel or any of the initial install programs that would go with a mac. Though up until this point, the other games have played fine (Shadowgate, Uninvited, Dungeon of Doom).

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Best,

JYH

What file is the game? If it's .SIT then you need to expand it with Stuffit (Equivalent to a .ZIP file on a PC).
