Hello there, again,
I recently got Professional Composer for Mac, but it was made in 1984 and I can't find a way to dump the disks. I tried HFVExplorer but that didn't work, so to make sure the data was still on the disks, I tried a couple other games that I knew had their data still but HFVExplorer still couldn't read them. So I'm wondering how to get such old files off a disk.

I am going to jump the gun here and take a stab at what is going on.
HVFExplorer is being run on a PC under Windows.
The disks that you are trying to read are either 800k or 400k floppies.
If the above are true, than it won't work. There is an incompatibility in the way Macs and PCs stored data on a disk before 1.4mb disks. 1.4mb IBM disk drives can't read 400k/800k Mac Disks. Its not just a matter of file system, its in the way the hardware accesses the disk its self.
Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but to read a 800k/400k mac disk you need a classic mac.

I'm not sure how big the disks are but yes, I'm running HFVE on Windows XP Pro. The program was made in 1984. I have a Mac Plus that I'm sure would read them but it has problems (Has a picture of a disk with a question mark which tells me I need a boot disk). I wanted to run it on Mini vMac.

In 1984, it would have been written for the original Mac with a 400k floppy disk. It looks like all classic macs with floppy drives can read them. I have a Centris 650 that should be able to read them, but I don't know if you want to risk mailing the disks. I am not sure whether PPC macs can read them.
