Favorite PhotoCD SW??

Maybe this will help others that may have had a similar question:

I am looking around for software compatible with the old Kodak's PhotoCD format that older DVD players, as well Classic Macs and PCs (CD-i format) were compatible with.

Note: This format is not the newer PictureCD format Kodak developed later. A little history on this special format is found here:

Of the Mac programs listed at this link, one of them was PhotoImpress 1.5 and LE versions. Does this old program sound familiar to anyone? If anyone has this or other programs like it, I think we can see if we can more software image toys to play with!

Ps. Here's a second link that talks about the same sw:

Adobe PhotoDeluxe may be the one I'm thinking of, but I'm sure that there was also some software by Kodak that I got with one of my first digital cameras (either the Kodak DC20 or the one after, a DC240, or was it a DC280?).
I found it too demanding for my Mac at the time, so I went back to GraphicConverter, another good solution.

I guess my favorite combined thumbnail viewer & editor for Mac is Thumbs Plus, which handles many file formats including PhotoCD etc. Sadly, on the Mac it never went commercial and beyond Release Candidate status. What I really liked about it, was it ran superbly on both 68k & PPC.

Even better: Its here at the Garden Smile

Thanks Mike!

I will try this one out once I can make a PhotoCD. I'll also look to see if I have a compatible DVD player.

That's the thing with proprietary formats - they tend to go out of fashion and use after a while, except at MacintoshGarden of course! Smile
