FS: Macintosh IIx (uk)

The logicboard has been fully recapped, and the filter cap in the powersupply has also been replaced.

It has 8mb of ram has what i believe is the stock apple video card. It also has a 36.4GB 15K SCA hdd installed with one of my adapters (unfortunately i don't have a 3.5" drive bracket so the hdd is just screwed to the 5.25" bracket)

Both batteries have been removed and i am currently using the jump start method to turn it on (I can install a fresh set of batteries if asked)

It's currently running a clean install of 7.1

The case is yellowed but it is pretty even (apart from where the monitor sat on it) (and it's not a nasty cheese yellow either), it has a few nicks but nothing too noticeable.

Asking £25 + shipping

International shipping is available (But expensive )

Haha, yeah i shudder to think of that too.. This thing weighs like 11kg

Just think, i shipped my portables logicboard to the US for repair and that cost like £30 via UPS for a 1kg package. Shipping to AUS is quite a bit more than that. I'm guessing it would be in the £100 range for a 11Kg package to AUS ...

Just for the hell of it i looked it up, cheapest i could find was £91.73 (that's assuming it would be a 15kg parcel to account for my OTT packing of everything i send)

So yeah, a little too expensive i think

Just a little out of my league

I'm surprised that you eventually sold it on for such a nominal (£15) sum and there was so little interest for it in the UK.

I would've loved to have it but I'm glad that you found a home for it all the same.

Well, i really just wanted to re home this machine, i brought 2 a while back hopeing to get one working, and ended up getting both working. and these beasts are huge, don't really have room for two.

I am going to be getting some macs to restore and resell, but i'm going to focus on the compacts as those are the ones that are really collectable

Always surprised about how hard it is to re home macs in the UK (unless it's a compact or your willing to risk ebay (which i'm not...))

Just scored a MacII si,2 monitors,One Mono, One Color.. it needs some going over, and a Quadro. Dont know the model Quadro(if its a 840av, I will keep it or let go for best price) as yet, these will both be sold in due time. If anyone is interested please let me know and I will keep you on a list for either model. Im more then likely going to sell both units together, as one big shipper if all goes well, if not it will be parts for anyone who wants to pay shipping and cost of units. I will keep you updated as more material comes about.
