Help remembering...

Hello,

I'm looking for some help to remember the name of an old mac game I used to play. It was a creative suite type of game aimed at kids where you could make a kind of dynamic environment/screensaver type scene. It used really basic animation and design tools to help you do this. You could add in music and basically customise this scene how you liked.

I can't remember the name though! I've been through the a-z and didn't see it (or missed it). I'm sure it's called something like 'creator time' or 'everything _____' or something OTT like 'super creator time'.... possibly had world in the title? Gah... I was probably playing this in about 2000/2001 ish?

If this rings any bells with anyone, please let me know! Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I've been through the a-z

Was that the Games A-Z or the Apps A-Z?? The two sections have separate links. It may be best to go through the Games Uploaded So Far link which has a long list of both games and apps in an alphabetical list ... although not knowing the name will make it difficult.

I did see a screen saver creator last week in one of the Apps section, but I can't remember what it was called and may not be the one you want (there were a few of them).

Maybe "Kids World Screen Saver Construction Set"?

I say maybe as its from 1994 and 'cause the archive here seems to be zipped without consideration of Mac resource forks... apparently fubar.

See also The Incredible Machine 3 and its cross-links, given on that page.

The OP has put me in mind of some piece of software that I only used on the Macs at my school as a young kid, so I also don't know the name unfortunately. I remember it having a lot of 3D-ish shapes (I don't think they were actually 3D rendered or anything though) like spheres and things that you could throw around the screen and they would keep bouncing around. You could pick different backgrounds which had 3D-ish patters, so you had a top-down type view and the shapes would get larger or smaller (appearing to get closer or further away from you) as they passed over the terrain of the backgrounds. After you got some number of shapes all bouncing around the screen the result was very much like the look of screensavers at the time. I wonder if it is the same program?

UPDATE: I found the thing I was struggling to remember. It appears to be BLOX - Flying Spheres from Thinkin Things Collection 1:

There is a similar (or identical) game on Thinkin' Things 2.
Thinkin' Things 2 shipped free with the 6000 series Performas (6250CD...).

Ah, maybe it was 2 I played then. Would explain why it was on my school's computers if it was just bundled with them anyway.
