I would copy the file to you internal HD first as the zip is PC Formatted.
You have already tried dragging and dropping the .sit file onto the stuffit expander icon???
If that doesn't work open Stuffit Expander and then use the "open file" command (Apple + O) to select the .sit file.

When you move things from PC to Mac the resource fork is usually lost so often times you must resort to the
A: open program
B: open file from within program method
when double click or drag and drop doesn't work.

Double clicking works by checking the creator code in the resource fork of the target file and opening the matching program.
Drag and drop functions by comparing the file type in the resource fork of the target file with file types accepted by the target program - if there is a match the target program changes appearance.

If you have the File Exchange control panel installed you can also use that to match file extensions to preferred target software.
You can also use ResEdit to add the creator code and file type back to the file.

The version of the Stuffit engine may also be an issue.
Many uploads here were deflated with Stuffit5 or better, which may be incompatible with an older Stuffit running on a SE.

If the Windows rig could run a Mac emulator, all unstuffing and handling might be done on there.
Basilisk build 142 did handle Mac SCSI volumes without a glitch. (just thought Smile )

The stuffit version I have 3.06 and 5 neither of two works.
If basilisk 142 work in windows and can handle the scsi zip drive may be the solution to move old software to my macs.
Many tks for you info.

In case you did not find the site already, GS12 has some stuff online, which might help to get going with BasiliskII and SheepShaver:
http://www.redundantrobot.com/sheepshaver-tutorial/

If you are going to plunge into the emulators, be aware that BII/142 and 143 for Windows will offer SCSI support, the feature was dropped in later builds.
Some development is going on to rebuild old features of BasiliskII for Windows 64bit, proceedings are posted at Emaculation.

SheepShaver may be useful for you as it is capable of running Stuffit7 - SCSI is disabled too sadly.

If you are in need of a special game file, some here are willing to repack it as img/sit3 or zip it for you, feel free to ask.
