As part of the Guide I've had some curiosities...
How do you create an smi image? Disk Copy 6.3.3, 6.4b11 and 6.5b13 don't have anything about it.
I looked in the manual for Disk Copy 6.1.2 and it's not in there.

Requirements for building .smi executable Disk Copy files:
Disk Copy 6.3 or greater
Mac OS 8.1 to 9.2.2
AppleScript installed (usually gets installed with those OS's)
Plus the necessary scripts placed into a "Scripts" folder located inside the same folder as Disk Copy. There isn't a "Scripts" folder by default, you need to create this yourself. Once done you get a new menu named "Scripts" in Disk Copy's menu and access to whatever scripts are added into the Scripts folder.
There were 3rd party script solutions for making .smi files, but I found the official Apple AppleScripts worked best.
You can still find the official release in various locations, such as this one. DL the file named "Disk_Copy_6.3_Scripts.smi.bin" from there.
As well as .smi creation these scripts also give you a "segment image" script for Disk Copy and another for floppy disk insert preferences. Although Mac OS 8.1 or newer is required to create .smi, they can self-mount in Systems from SSW 7.0.1 and later.
Of the Disk Copy versions you mention, 6.3.3 is the most stable (reliable).
Great. I'll make sure to investigate these developments and chronicle the experiences in the Guide.
6.4b11 and 6.5b13 can burn images and a couple of other things. People've said that those versions can mount .dmgs but I've never gotten one to mount.
Update: I fiddled with it a bit and yes 8.1 is the minimum. Kind of odd actually, IIRC SSW 7 Pro has AppleScript and I read the script code and all it appears to do is use some kind of feature already built into DC 6.3.3. It works under the Classic Emulation Environment so that helps a bit.
