How do I download "archived" files?

I want to download some games that are archived. Can't find a way to do so.

You can't. Only files that are 40 MB or less can be downloaded from this site. Which games are in question?

Games like: Afterlife, Wolfenstein 3D, many others, etc.

Wolfenstein 3D's download works.
I have a huge archive of games, can you give me a list and I can see what I can do?

I may ask for other games later. So far I have come up with: Afterlife, Ceasar 3, Baldur's Gate, and Myth.

The "Files" section of The Old Mac Archive holds most of the archived games. We can't link directly to them from the Garden for fear of bot-driven MediaFire takedowns.

Also, some games do have external download links hidden in the descriptions. Look carefully on the Caesar III page and you'll see a link to download the game from uploaded.net.

I do have a problem however, I do not know how to use .zip files in sheepshaver.

Baldur´s Gate is also on Knez´s Hotline Server.
I am using The Unarchiver on my OSX hosts for all kinds of inflating. This wont work on other hosts of course, as the resource forks will be damaged.

I am using Windows 7 24bit.

Edit: Ok well I got a .toast file out of the .zip and now idk how to use the .toast file. I tried using ToastDeluxe 4.1.3 and then I figure it needs to write it to a CD or whatever but it tells me it has no CD-Recorder and to check cables and powers.

Within Toast Deluxe, use its "Mount" command to get the .toast cdr into the Mac.
Or outside of SheepShaver, use SheepShaver's GUI to add the .toast file to its drives list,
like you've added the SheepShaver boot volume to it before.

I had this problem with a .dmg file. However I had the same solution last time but I couldn't figure out how to get the .dmg file onto Windows 7. Is there an easier solution then having to get a USB Flash drive to transfer the files?

If it is uncompressed .dmg, SheepShaver should pick it up from the GUI like other images.
For the usual compressed .dmg stuff, you will have to ask someone with a Mac/Hack to convert it to some vintage file format, I´m afraid.

@24bit

I believe it was uncompressed because I did manage to get the GUI to mount it. The problem was it was downloaded as a .sit.dmg so I had to unstuff it in SheepShaver and then transfer it to the GUI. I'm asking however instead of using a USB Flashdrive to move it like I did, (using the My Computer) is there an easier way to move files from SheepShaver to the GUI?

@ Jormungandr, don´t think so. Unless that you should be able to write to any desired directory on your host from SheepShaver. It would be the same procedure using some TMP directory instead of a thumb drive though.

Off: Check out OS86.net to find out whether your rig would run OSX natively. It makes the use of a Mac emulator much easier and SS almost flies. Mac CDs can be read in 64bit mode - except for 10.8.

@24bit Are you suggesting I try to get a working Hackintosh? That would be quite the feature to accomplish for me. I would get lost without a guide to set it up.

This might be a starting point: http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=1479
If you have only Smile or green checks, you are ready to go.
This is a guide for "unsupported" cpus, AMD and others. The basics are always the same.

Most important is the question whether your devices are supported and to get going at all. Smile

Get a DVDas long as its possible: http://www.osx86.net/news-announcements/19774-mac-os-x-10-6-snow-leopard...

I'm running 10.8 on a HP DC7700 core2 right now.
I can provide general osx86 help.
I recommend iAtkos, if you aren't confident doing it yourself:

OSX86 is easy these days, allot of core, core 2 and core quad systems can be used just by using iboot + multibeast (+ the retail osx snow leopard install dvd) check out: http://tonymacx86.com
(they also do programs for installing lion and mountain lion, never tried them tho, as i don't like those os's)
