I unzipped it in Windows, but Windows is telling me it is not a valid ISO image. ISO is not a supported format under 7.5.5 to my understanding, and as such, I cannot do anything with it in Basilisk II.

Here are several versions of the OS 8 (an much more) in different compression formats,
I have not tested this specifically, but I downloaded and tested everything else and works

By the way,
ISO's are supposed to be burned onto a CD, that's why it won't be recognized as such in Basilisk.
Once the CD is being burned, Start Basilisk from that CD and follow the Instructions,
it just takes a few Clicks to install it.

I couldn't burn the ISO with Windows 7, but I got it to work under XP. Thanks for the link though!

Fun Fact: In Windows you can just add an ISO image to the volumes list in the Basilisk II GUI and boot from it, without having to burn anything! You just need to mark the ISO as "read only."
This is helpful because the cdrom driver that comes with Basilisk II and SheepShaver won't work in a 64 bit OS.

In Windows you can just add an ISO image to the volumes list in the Basilisk II GUI and boot from it, without having to burn anything!
Same goes to the Mac version of Basilisk II GUI, as well as SheepShaver.

i suggest 8.6
diablo1, warcraft II, and starcraft all require os8.6 to go on battlenet

I'm trying to get this to work, it keeps saying there's an internal error processing the .iso image, and I don't think Mac OS 7.5.3 can read .iso files anyway.

Just burn the goddamn .ISO thing onto a CD and avoid all that "compatibility" trouble.

Already done. Like I said, it wasn't working with Windows 7. It did work with XP.

Did you use the 64 bit version of Vista? That won't work at all.

Ooops, yeah. I misread.
Anyhow, the cd-rom driver that comes with Basilisk and SheepShaver is not 64 bit compatible. So if you are trying to use a physical CD-ROM, it won't work at all in a 64 bit Windows.

I hope the CD-ROM driver for windy operating systems will be updated somehow.
