img files keep comeing up corrupt then trying to open them

You must give a little more information before we can help you. Can you tell us from what pages you downloaded those images? Do they show up as Disk Copy images on the Finder?

Wolfenstein 3D ShrinkWrap both will not mount butt several other img files give me the same error

Don't use shrinkwrap. I think most of these images are disk copy images. Use Disk copy version 6 if you can. Open disk copy first, choose open from the file menu, select the image and mount. Shrinkwrap doesn't work with OSX at all - so you have to use it in the emulated / original mac. Also sometimes disk copy images and shrinkwrap don't get along together.

Disk copy v 6 is for mac os 9 and im using 8.6 will it work still

Disk copy 6.3.3 works with Mac OS 7.0.1 and up.
