Does anyone have the powerport mercury mac software. i have a powerbook 540c , it was a give away so i never got a install disk. i have checked on there site modems.globalvillage.com but they no longer sell stuff so i assume they are bankrupt.

Thank You

Start with the Internet Archive, globalvillage.com used http to deliver the support downloads, so as long as they're not over a few MB, they will be at archive.org.

I've already downloaded a handful of support files.

Is it the sort of stuff that would be freely available for download ? As opposed to freely available updates for it. I wonder if it's on my one or more of my enormous stash of magazine cover CD's and floppies going back to 1987. I remember the software, but if you could narrow down the year (say to +/-1 year) I could perform an exhaustive search. If it was ever freely available, I'll find it.

well, i am not sure of the year, but for lets just say, sometime between 1996 and 2000 Tongue
And no i don't think it was ever available for free, it came with your modem or you had to purchase it.
Thank You Smile

Neat, can you upload them here?
p.s. i think all the powerport software is compatable with all the powerport series (unless of course its a pc version off the software)

If I dig them up Wink ... I don't have a floppy drive Mac readily available, and I'm not sure where I put the 1.44MB USB drive I had. I'll get to it though.

It is a Mac version.
