Keyboard shortcuts - is there a definitive guide?

I use several different versions of MacOS. Installed on a few very different machines. And more loose SCSI hard drives than I care to think about.

One problem I run into is the differences of the keyboard shortcuts that are allowed in each version of the Macintosh OS. Sure, there are currently up-to-date documents, listing shortcuts for only OSX, but that helps me on only one system.

I deal with System 4 through 8 on 68k hardware and external SCSI enclosures. I am looking to recover the data then toss the drives, putting stuff onto a CD when I get the external CD burner working on the SE/30 (if that is even possible).

I am hoping to save a lot of frustration, mostly on part, by asking:
"is there a document or webpage offering a thorough listing of all the keyboard shortcuts used in Mac OS (where the listing tells me it works on System 4 throught 7.55 or only works with 68k Powerbooks, etcetera)??"

I can start such a listing, probably won't finish it to my satisfaction since winter is over and I have to move soon, I probably have a half-made document archived somewhere, but sometimes, I ask the right questions at the right time.

By no means a definitive list but it could still be of use, called "Magical Macintosh Key Sequences.

Has both early OS X & Classic keyboard shortcuts. Some mention of OS versions when these shortcuts were introduced, also containing shortcuts specific to Quadra AV's, IIci's, IIfx's, PB 500's, PB G3's, SE's etc.

Also a nice PDF of the page, linked near top of web page.

The only shortcuts I can clearly recall the introduction of was "Command + M" to create an alias introduced with SSW 7.1, "Control + drag" to create an alias (unofficial & enabled by 3rd party INITs) in OS 7.1.1 to OS 7.6.1 and "Option + Command + drag" to create an alias in Mac OS 8.0 and beyond.

Thanks a lot, you understood what I wanted!

I had located that page a few hours before posting and it seems to be useful enough.

Ultimately, though, I was thinking there might be a better page, one that the 'cult' members knew or owned; I secretly hoped there was a better one that didn't make it into the search engines.

I usually don't trust recent search engines to be really good (with paid placements, SEO trickery, you name it, the search results lately aren't doing it for me like they used to).

As I indicated, that link is, so far, the most useful.

I also tried these sites (and was not as satisfied as the link you offered):
Low-End-Mac,
WolfTech,
Dan Rodney,
and, of course, the Dave's Picks site.

Low end Mac is really where I thought I might find such a list. I haven't really spent much time there as of now, I'm trying to get the powerbook 520C to use the 'display/SCSI' port with out any knowledge of how to get it to see the external SCSI drive (yes, it is terminated and it was powered up before booting the SE/30).

I'm still working on that, thinking the keyboard options at boot (cmd-opt-shift-delete) might help, but does that work with 7.5.5?
