List of Broken Links - Finished

I ~~am slowly working~~ have now been through all the pages here to identify broken links. Some are MegaUpload links that need replacing and/or removing (including those oustanding in SwedeBear's list of MU links), some are links that are just broken for some other reason, ~~some are links that are needed because the item has been archived and is unavailable~~, some links are only available to the original uploader.

Edit: However I have not included links that have been removed recently due to cancelling of sheepmyshaver123's external server account, or own links removed by MCP to protect an external server account. Neither does it include any links that became broken after I first checked the link to be OK. Also external links that are broken, but are archived on the internal server, are not listed.

~~This is a work in progress, and the operative word is "slowly". So far the list only contains titles up to and including those beginning with the letter ~~"A"~~ "Z". I will add to the list over time.~~ I have chosen not to make this a linked list to save myself some time. Please consider replacing and/or removing the broken links in the listed pages if you can. As you do this, I will strike the relevant item off the list.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.05 has been restored. That includes all 15 languages for the "regular" version, along with all 5 languages for the version that has support for Central European fonts.

And, if the uploader (like me, currently) has not paid for the external space,
files not d/led within 30 days will be deleted by the hoster, like Police Quest - SWAT, for example.

Apple Displays Software 1.7.1 has been updated.
AppleWorks 6.2.x has been updated with a link to the Apple Downloads page where the update from 6.2.x to 6.2.9 is available directly.

I have added titles beginning with "B" to the list. I know that some links stop working because the persons who were generous enough to make the D/Ls available initially do not have a paid account with their file server. In those cases, this list could be an opportunity for someone else to provide a more permanent link if they have a copy of the file.

Bad Mojo (Archived and unavailable. Needs external link - Do we need this item at all, as we have Bad Mojo Redux?)

Be aware, the Bad Mojo Redux entry includes an external d/l link, which hasn't been paid for, so this d/l may will disappear at some time.

I would prefer this one to be left to posterity

That is, I can see why it was released at vers. 1.0 and then never touched again, not even to an incremental 1.0v1 AFAIK... if I was a kid and confronted with this level of complexity & blatant obfuscation to something 10x more unintuitive & feeble than the general ClarisWorks vers. 4.0 offering of the same period... How CWks for Kids ever got to vers. 1.0 and OK'd for release, I do wonder.

However, I can re-upload this abomination to some place if its absolutely needed: If only for archival sake

Well, it is up to you MikeTomTom. It *is* archived on the server, even if no one can get at it...but maybe no one will want to . On the other hand, I wouldn't mind having a copy. However, if it is such bad software, I won't bother providing a more permanent link.

I've put ClarisWorks for kids up at RS. The link is on the CWks 4 Kids page. I don't have a paid for accnt at RS so it'll be good for a month at a time between DL's. Try it out and see if you want to move it to somewhere more permanent. Cheers.

I have just added items whose names begin with the letter D. As you can see from the list so far not all broken links are worth replacing, whereas others definitely are. However, since someone decided that a link is worth posting in the first place, I have listed it here if it is broken.

Sound Library 2000 doesn't have an external download link (at least, not anymore). http://macintoshgarden.org/games/sound-library-2000

I saw it in the "Totally Rad Mac Programs" book. Can't believe it used to cost $130 in 1992...that's over $200 in 2012 dollars. I also can't believe Mac Garden has a copy.

Tomorrow, though: tonight I will take a shower, go to bed, drag myself to the community college, take a test, stop by the grocery store, pick up a few items, drop off the request card for a brand of soft drink I can't find in town, and then I'll see what I can do.

Apple Spec Database 1.02 (run-time version)

See 2nd comment (mine) posted near bottom of page for Apple Spec Database.

I also still think this is misplaced in the "Games" section (should be Apps, Utilities). It also erroneously states made with FileMaker Pro 5. Official Apple releases of the database were made with FM Pro 3.0 - unless the upload here was some kind of 3rd party hack? I never DL'd the one that was here to check.

I am not including items for which MCP has removed his external links (to protect his server account from recent uninformed targeting of Mediafire by music industry agents). He still has the files on his server, so you can still get them...they are just not linked from here any more.
