Metacreations Painter 6

Hello everyone, I would like to ask can we consider Metacreations Painter 6 for abandonware since it is product of 1999? Also do someone has the english installer? If we consider this version for abandonware I can upload a CD image of the german version as well.
Thanks Smile

@atlantik82: Hi, if you feel like doing so, make a page for Painter 6 and archive your German language copy to it. The English language version may eventually follow.

*I really hope someone to help me with figuring out how to change the application language if this is possible of course.

Thanks for archiving it here, atlantik82.

There's no easy way to change the language. I once had success with a French language version of a Claris product (ClarisDraw, I think). I did this by swapping the Menus and text resources and basically any resource that looked like it had been localized to French, by using ResEdit, to copy over the English language resources from a working US English demo application of the same product. - A demo version being one with Save disabled but otherwise works as expected.

Regardless of localization, the menus etc; resources have the same resource ID's so swapping them out with another from the different localized copy will probably be OK. But if the other copy is a full working version in the language you want, then you may as well use that.

If there's working demo version of Painter 6 in your language choice out there tho'...

I haven't used version 6.0 before, but I have used the 5.5 Web edition of Painter and its pretty good. With .5 of a difference in version numbers I wouldn't think too different from 6.
