My first post here - looking forward to spending a good lot of my spare time here discovering old jewels

Need a bit of help finding a game I used to play on a mac from around the mid-late 90s (pretty sure), yet I played it in 2004. Anyway - I'm looking for the name of this game which I'll briefly describe the gameplay.

The room background is black (2d game) You are a small character, and when you push a key, a coloured (green or blue) box would appear under you, or next to you and you had to make it to a certain checkpoint to get to the next level.
It was kind of like a strategy/puzzle game.

If anyone knows what this is called - I would love to know!
