happy to report that i was able to borrow a pentium 4 AGP pc from a neighbour and boot up into dos using hirens boot cd and then used atiflash on pc to reprogram the flash.. the cards been tested already in my Sawtooth g4 450mhz , which booted into os9 with it, but the card gave no resolution settings at all;( so its now powered on and in use inside a powermac G5, i would have it in my mdd but im too lazy to do the taping of pins 3 + 11 to make the 8x agp card work in the 4x slot....
i might just order another radeon 8500.. the reason for this is ive got some extra flat screens and tried to hook up dual monitors only to find that ADC ports were in my way of acheiving this and people want to charge ridiculous amounts for a stupid ADC - DVI converter so its cheaper to get better video card that just supports VGA + DVI or dual DVI and get rid of the ADC video altogether.. the two of which cards i have: 9600XT 128mb and a Geforce 4MX 32MB..

Yes, graphics cards with ADC ports are a PITA.

it really is a huge jump in speed to go from a pre 9600 graphics card to a 9800 (pro or xt)
actually 9700 is a big improvement aswell but 9800+ even more so..
does anyone know of any way to get full resolution control on an ati 9800 in os9?
i was able to boot up with this card installed but had no options to change the resolution..
i have skowered the net looking for drivers or files to enable these resolutions controls.. but everywhere i look makes msention of 9000/9200 being the last os9 drivers available..some say there were no 9600 or 9800 drivers while i did see some people insisting that these do infact exist..?anyoen have any info on this?

ALSO!
i read in another message from someone else that if you have an OSX / OS9 on the same powerpc mac that if you boot into osx and change the resolution, and then boot back into os9 the resolution will stay at whatever u set it to on OSX....... can anyone confirm this behaviour??
