[SOLVED] Apple DVD Player help... I know this works!

Hey there. Just installed a DVD-ROM into the 600MHz iMac SE Graphite (instead of the CD-RW) -- I found another Slot-loading G3 at the dump today. The DVD Player under OSX 10.4 works sweetly (with no lag whatsoever), but every time I launch Apple DVD Player on Mac OS 9.2.2, it spits the dummy, and complains about not having the correct hardware for playback.

I remember having an updated Apple DVD Player.dmg update some time back -- does anyone know if I can ever get this 4x DVD-ROM playing movies under OS9?

Many thanks in advance for any help. I would rather stay in OS9 than switch to OSX every time I want ot watch a movie Smile

Try the "Apple DVD Player 2.7" with the player patch. If the version of DVD Player you have installed is already version 2.7, just apply the patch. Both are available at this MG page.

This is what I use on my beige G3, very unsupported on this Mac and works great for me.

Thanks MTT, but I fixed it without reverting to Tome Viewer etc. by using the following method...

I copied all the Extensions off my working G4 iMac MacOS 9.2.2, those starting with DVD (there were about 7 or Cool and also copied the Apple DVD Player folder from Applications (OS9).

Worked first try, beautiful software, ridiculous GUI.

I will try and label this thread [SOLVED]
