open id and downloads

i became a member using the open id option and now i can't download. (when i click download nothing happens and the page reloads.) besides i cant see the the download click area at all in recently uploaded games (blind date and thrillrider). is this normal and because of the new "login to download" policy, or is this a bug?

@toprak: it seems that files never were uploaded for those. Wonder why...
I'll check again tomorrow.

Thrillride should have uploaded overnight (UK). It came out at 151MB, so I reckon it's a candidate for BitTorrent download. It does take a wee while for the files to become availabile on amazon.

Blind Date wasn´t accepted when uploaded from Safari. The page contained rubbish code instead of the download link. You might have visited the page when I tried to upload from Safari. This is now corrected and the game is downloadable. Smile

@bertboy: the other 3D ultra pinball games are much smaller than that, i'm sure if you copy the files in the cd image to a file and then stuffit, the size will reduce without any data loss.

@toprak,

Yep, the other "warez" versions of the pinball games may be much smaller. This is the original install media, 192MB of which 40MB is video,15MB music, etc, etc.

I also have the Creep Night CD, it's a similar size to this one, so I'm not sure what has been ripped out in the file uploaded, it's not the full game, hopefully it's not just a cracked version of the demo.

@bertyboy: it seems like you are having problems trying to upload above the 150 mb torrent limit. Screw the movies, who cares abut the movies of a pinball game, just stuff the thing under 150 MB and do a straight upload please. You'll replace the file if you manage a full upload in the future.

@toprak: the 150MB limit has no effect on what happens during upload. We just change the URL in the theme layer. So that advice wouldn't be a real help. More likely, the upload just failed, which can, and does, happen.

Two times in a row?

@toprak:

That seriously shouldn't happen. There is ABSOLUTELY no difference in the way uploads are processed for any file. Probably @bertyboy's Internet connection is flaky.

Maybe using FTP to anonymous @ macintoshgarden.org would work ... I'd re-upload it afterwards.

Or if bertyboy tries to upload via Safari…

The same thing happened to me, but I found out that it only happens right after the files are uploaded

So I just wait about 10-15 minutes after the the upload is complete
(I guess until the server's internal work is done) , and then I can download the files
with no problems.
