Out of Nowhere! a late-2013 iMac

I complained about the family's mid-2010 iMac running a bit hot, and BAM!

Got a late-2013 iMac today (only a month old), and it is running quietly and cool... go Haswell!!!

Did a restore from Time Machine backup (10.9.5 off 2010 iMac - as my 10.9.3 Install USB stick did not finish installation on two occasions - 10.9.4 was the default OS for this one). Fixed MS Outlook corrupt Identity rebuild error, activated a few bits of software, re-ran Software Update, and it is like nothing has changed.

Now, to get a massive SSD for the spare internal drive bay Laughing out loud

I just watched the OWC guide on replacing RAM on this machine... I'm not going to attempt it...

I like the way they state that the possibility of replacing the RAM on the 2014 iMac is "bordering on the impossible". When you see the guide for the Late 2013 iMac, you'll understand what they mean.

My old mid-2010 iMac is up for sale on Gumtree (Tasmania-Australia). It is pick-up only sorry. Going at a very sweet price, considering what I originally paid, and the RAM update, and the accessories.

Should be live soon.

Yep, it's a bit annoying that Apple stopped allowing user RAM upgrades on the 21" iMac. The 27" iMac still has a trapdoor for accessing the RAM slots.
