Request: Extensis Mask Pro v2.0

Version 1 is already here but they made v2.0 before declaring Mac OS 9 dead. I would like to have v2.0.

Garden member Mulder mentioned that he had added Mask Pro 2.0 to his mediafire account in this forum post (post made back in 2012)

If its still there (I can't tell, perhaps my browser is too old to work in MF anymore) DL and add it to the Garden's archives please. There might be other plug-ins, etc of interest there too. [Edit] Done, read further down page.

I took a copy of all of Mulders' Extensis files, including Mask Pro 2, so if you cannot access them any more, I can provide them.

I found a copy elsewhere, mdav. Have made a page for it here.

But I hope that you will make a page for the complete (or parts of that collection). Suitcase 8.1 has a page here but not much else from that collection which is a substantial Extensis anthology.

MikeTomTom, if I wrap them up and put them on max1zzz's server (about 100 MB) so you can access them, would you be willing to make the pages? You might do a better job than me as I have never used PhotoShop (well, not the full version). FYI, the files are still visible at Mulder's link.

Thanks mrdav. Max1zzz's I can access OK. If you can place them there I'll get them archived here.

Well it turns out that Mask Pro v2.0 doesn't work with Photoshop 7 (or 6 either). To get Mask Pro "talking" to Photoshop 7, I need Mask Pro v3.0. 3.0 is a hybrid (carbonized) plugin that works with Mac OS 9.2.2 and some early version of X (10.2.1 I think).

Please search your collections for v3.0.

Yes it does work in Photoshop 6 and I'm betting it also works in Photoshop 7, too.

When you install; Choose a "Custom Install" and check the "Other" checkbox only. Once you click OK to this, a dialog pops up asking where you want to install Mask Pro 2. Choose the Photoshop Plug-ins folder, then complete the registration details.

You'll be good to go from then on.

No Go on the custom install. The installer puts a new folder into the plugins folder containing the plugin and a shared library (among other things) but Photoshop 7 just ignores the folder and its contents.

I ran across some release notes or comments that indicated v3.0 would make Mask Pro work again in Photoshop 6 and 7. Thus my request.

Its working fine in version 6 for me. As yet to try it in 7 but your description of the Plug-ins contents rings true.

[Update]: I don't know what you're not doing right, Gary.

Installed and am running Mask Pro 2.0 just fine on Photoshop 7 (classic). No problems here that I can see.

[Edit] added two screenshots of it running in Photoshop 7 to the Mask Pro 2 page

Seeing is believing. I notice you only have a few 3rd party plugins listed in your screen shot while I have a lot of them. Perhaps I've reached some sort of limit.

I will try removing some of mine and see what happens.
