Sheepshaver, not enough memory for Damage Incorporated, + resolution & mouselook

Reposting from the recent Prime Target thread. Since the games use the same engine I was thinking the problems could be related.

I'm dropping in to say that I have the same problems with the mouse look and screen resolution with Damage Incorporated; I have Prime Target as well but have yet to see if I have the same problems. It also resets the keyboard and mouse controls to default whenever I quit the game, as well.

I also have problems with the sound not playing in Damage Incorporated. When I launch Damage Incorporated it says I don't have enough memory to play sounds; I believe I set the RAM on SheepShaver to 1000 MB.

In Finder, mark the Game application file, Press Apple+I. There is a Memory section in the Finder's Information window about the application. Just increase the bottom memory value ("Preferred memory size") a bit.

There are two issues and you don't say which you are talking about.

What do have the system memory set to via the SheepShaver preferences editor?
Go under the Apple to "About This Computer" to see your current setting.
256 MB should be enough System RAM for most Classic Applications if you're running 8.6 or lower.
1000MB = 1GB would be a little extreme.
Are you sure you didn't mean 1000K = 1MB for the Application itself? - now that would be rather small. Application memory numbers are in Kilobytes not MB

What does get info (Apple+I) say about the application memory?
There should be minimum, preferred and user set memories (in Kilobytes).

Open the application and then do "About This Mac".
This will show whether you are running out of System Memory or if the app is running out of application memory.

Make sure you don't go past Quicktime 4.1.2 for Sheepshaver, 4.0.3 for Basilisk
Higher versions don't work with SheepShaver.

Ok, sorry for the long wait but I just got back to this.

Sheepshaver tells me I have ~975 MB of unused space.

Prime Target's application memory is 5012-9620 K, Damage Incorporated is 4000-9081 K.

The Quicktime installed with OS 9 is v 4.0.3, so I suspect the sound issue is indeed memory related.

I still need to find a way to enable mouselook in game, but its secondary to sound/music support at this point in time.

Ok, thanks. I'll give it a shot when I can; btw, Prime Target has the same problem. There's also the issue with input, especially the mouse.
