Software Dispatch!

This is Software Dispatch, a CD distributed with Performas in the mid-1990s.

Basically, it was a disc full of demos, but it was shareware, so there were full versions.

Given a lot of the software isn't on Macintosh Garden yet, there are demos at least of some (Number Maze, for instance), and, if needs be, the CD can be cracked to get the full version goodies inside (complete with manuals).

Do not add an entry for Software Dispatch, add individual demos (or possibly full versions):

Part 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?y26c5j91i8zd6kx

Part 3: http://www.mediafire.com/?01g31tony31l56y

Use StuffIt Expander to decompress.

Come on guys, this is a pretty rare disc with a bunch of neat stuff!

Go on and try it, compatible with Basilisk and anything under Mac OS X (some demos are not fully compatible with PowerPC processors)

Just having a look now. The copy of Acrobat Reader on it is 1.0 and should be an improvement over the copy I upped previously.

How so? That copy of 1.0 is perfect, IMHO Smile

Well just because the original copy I upped had been edited by the guy who originally put it online. This new copy is unedited. But there was nothing really wrong with the original upload either.

This is one epic collection, including one piece of software I had never heard of -- Brush Strokes by Claris!

I would reason that the purchasing system no longer works, and there is precious little in the way of demos. If anyone knows of the crack, it might be an idea to upload it and link with the downloads.

PS. I assume the original code was to access the CD, correct? It doesn't unlock anything?

Claris Brush Strokes is here at the Garden, but it is only a cobbled together hack and not the original. Do you know if the Brush Strokes on this CD archive is any better? e.g. the real thing and not a demo? And if it is a full original install, can you upload, to replace whats here?

Yeah, the code was to access the CD, and unfortunately, the CD is more a piece of Mac history than a wealth of software. A crack to unlock everything would be quite a piece of technical mastery, and the idea was that you'd unlock software as you'd buy it.

Still, there's quite a number of demos there and the potential remains to crack things.

OK, by using ResEdit, I made visible (this wouldn't be possible on a real CD due to the nature) a 400+MB document entitled "VEND080". This must be where the goodies are, and if I figure this out, it will be hitting pay dirt.

I will search through my wealth of cracks, codes and hacks, and see if I cannot find something regarding Software Dispatch disc!

Has anyone made any progress at investigating VEND0180?
