I'm absolutely certain that you can still find all the Apple updates, in any language of your choice, from the Apple FTP site. Of course it requires Apple to have released such an update.

Not much luck finding your German iTunes v2.0.4 for OS9. But, whzt version is on the German eMac Restore CD posted on this site before. It came with a special version of OS9.2.2 so I'm hopeful that it has a late version of iTunes.

I think the language issue is especially important where it comes to dictionaries. Word processors and DTP pograms are much less worth or even unusuable if there is no hyphenation dictionary. Many old applications came with English dictionaries only when bought in the English version.

In most cases it will be sufficient to upload the international dictionaries instead of the entire application localized in a foreign language. The English versions normally accept the foreign dictionaries.

For some applications like Nisus Writer, RagTime Solo/Privat, and FullWrite one had to purchase the dictionaries in addition to the application. These dictionaries are extremely rare. I tried to buy some of them second hand. But alas! Nobody seems to have them anymore.

A special case is QuarkXPress. If you do not have the Passport edition of Quark you cannot even start the application on a Mac OS localized in a foreign language!

I did download a French version of Celtic Kings some years ago, when my original CD just refused to work. I wasn't inenionally looking for French, it was just all I could find. Nevertheless, I managed to recover the app from my cd (it would only mount in my old iMac G3 - no other cd / dvd drive would touch it), combined with the data part from the download, to make a fully working version again.

If Celtc Kings is considered abandonware soon, I'm sure I can upload the french version.
