If you do this, please mark it as converted. We don't want people to think they're rips from original disks when they're just converted.
Also. There are valid reasons why .dsk/.img files are compressed to begin with; 1). To make smaller files for upload/downloading. 2). To preserve classic Mac resource forks of the archived files.
For example, if uploading a .img file that was created as "Read-Only Compressed" (Disk Copy 6.x), without further archiving that .img as Stuffit .sit, it will be useless when downloaded. Not even dragging the resulting .img into an emulator's window will be able to mount it.
Several Mac OS floppy disk image files that were uploaded to WinWorldPC as .7z are made useless because of this. Even though they were compressed before uploading, their Macintosh resource forks were not preserved using this method (& all images that had been imaged as "Read-Only Compressed" are totally unrecoverable).
