Timely ports

So an idea came to me today (and here me out on this, okay): A lot of great DOS/Windows games came out that never got to Mac. Sure, they either eventually did thanks to wrappers or Dosbox or whatever, but the point is, by that time the Mac had changed so much that they were more of relics wrapped in a new case. What if there were ports of them to the actual Classic Mac OS via engine recreation? As we all know, even King's Quest I didn't get a real Mac port, it got a custom engine recreation that had dithered DOS graphics.

With ScummVM being the semi-open source thing it is, I imagine all SCUMM and related games could be "reverse-ported" assuming that someone compiles a Mac OS version of it. Then, a classic Mac OS icon, and we're off to go! That's of course only referring to SCUMM, but there are other games too. How cool would it be to see them all on Mac as they were meant to be?

In case your answer was something like "Yes, but why?" it would make the classic Mac OS a more viable gaming option--imagine the power of every computer game released in the 1990s in a familiar old interface! Sounds great! What do you think?

I'd add that there were also a number of games whose expansion packs were not brought to the Mac, and which I'd personally love to see ported over. These include:

Dark Colony: The Council Wars
Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty.
Majesty: The Northern Expansion.

[Personally, I've always hated having a game for the Mac and being denied the expansion packs: I'd much rather have a single Mac version containing the expansion packs - such as Macsoft's Total Annihilation: Gold Edition.]
