Triple-A running way too slow on SheepShaver...

Y'all remember Triple-A? It's in the games section, and it's a really, really good game! Trouble is, it runs very slowly and somewhat choppily as soon as you shoot a bullet at an enemy. It's trying to use GameSprocketLib, which I suspect might be a problem because Triple-A obviously doesn't have direct access to the hardware, running in SheepShaver (on OS X 10.9). Does anyone know of some sort of workaround for this issue? It's slow enough to be pretty much unplayable. The game ran plenty fast on a PPC from 18 years ago, so I imagine it *can* be fixed.

SheepShaver doesn't have complete emulation of hardware yet.

Of course -- but do you know of anything -- even an OS 9 extension or something, or a preference somewhere -- that would allow Triple-A to run at normal speed?

It's trying to use GameSprocketLib

What do you mean by "trying to", also what OS version are you using on SheepShaver?

Whoops, I meant DrawSprocketLib. The documentation for the game says to install that extension (though it wasn't included in the download), and the game will not start if the extension is not present. I'm running OS 9.0.4, and from poking around in forums, I've learned that DrawSprocketLib is a library for interacting with the graphics hardware, to which SheepShaver does not have access -- hence "trying to" use the extension. However, Triple-A seems to have good reviews here (http://macintoshgarden.org/games/triple-a) and no comments about it being unplayably slow on SheepShaver (it definitely wasn't this slow on the PPC I originally played it on back in the day), so I figure there's something I'm missing that might make a difference. Do you know of anything I should try? I've tried raising the memory for the game and I've fiddled with the settings in the game itself, but so far to no avail.

EDIT: to clarify, I *am* running the extension, but I tried disabling it and that caused the game to not even start up.

Gave it a whirl and found it unplayable in 10.6 too. Sad
The faulty shooting as described here and over at Emaculation seems to be a built in feature with SS.
Maybe we can try less recent SS builds as far down as 10.5, but I doubt there is a cure at all.

Unplayable with 10.8.5 (64 bit) either - just to confirm.
