I remember there being a few tweaks (Norton I think had one) to put a photo or image on the desktop background of SSW 7/7.1 (not sure about System 6 though).
Anybody recall any such applets?
Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' by 'SSW 7' - IIGS User

Reason I ask is because I feeling like putting a little eye candy (b&w has eye candy?) under Mini vMac and Basilisk II.
I do remember some thread on 68kmla about 6 months ago where someone had a custom background courtesy of some Norton tool. I'll have to look into it...I think he said it was some part of Norton Utilities 2 or something.
Shoot! There is a utility here that puts mono eye candy onto 68000k desktops! It might even run on SSW 6 too. - Can't recall its name right now tho', just know that its here.
Decor is excellent on '030 & '040 Basilisk II's but I can't see it running on 68000k, tho'.
[Edit] Yes!!! its called "Backdrop" Total photo bling for the vMac Mini and all other compacts with 68000k cpu's
Was there not an app called Desktop Textures (or similar) ? that allowed you to change the desktop pattern, but you were not limited by size, so the pattern could be the resolution of the display.
Thanks for the pointers MTT!
I recall playing with custom desktop pictures on vintage Macs.
What's "IMO"?
BBS jargon?
IMO=In my opinion. MTT usually takes his time to explain very well in real English.
What's "BBS"?
<--- just kidding.
I thought I've seen the Backdrop DA when I was browsing the MG library last year. Seemed familiar.
Nice find.
Now to find out that Norton thing I might have seen...I'll report back if/when I find it.
I think I found it.

I seemed to recall something that may have come with Norton, but it could also be a brain short-circuit. I'll have to fiddle with a Mini vMac install and see if it can be found in a Norton package (I doubt it).
EDIT: Oh, and the NOW Utilities has a desktop picture utility, DeskPicture if I recall right.
