Using DSK images in pure Mac OS 9

Hey there,

I just downloaded Carmageddon. After unzipping it turned out to be a .dsk file, which apparently can only be used when running an emulator. I'm trying to run it on a Titanium Powerbook running Mac OS 9, though, but I can't seem to figure out how. It can't be mounted like an SMI file at least. Is there any helper utility I can use (on OS9 or OSX)?

Thanks!

Yes, I uploaded the Carmageddon .ISO game within a Macintosh Virtual Hard drive file (.DSK)
because I was having trouble transfering the .SIT files and because I use an Emulator,

.DSK files are very easy to use with Emulators because they are just like an extra hard Drive, where you can put things inside and transfer them everywhere in its a raw form without getting the files corrupted, also they compress very well almost half its size,
but I don't know how they work on a real Mac..

Thanks to Balrog, the Carmageddon game has been fixed for use as a regular CD ROM file.

THX!

Thanks for your hard work, I just redownloaded the file and am about to see if it works.
- edit - seems to work just fine, though you need some version of Toast to mount it. The one on this site works fine.

I used adaptec Toast v4.1.3 I downloaded from here, which I never thought it'd work on my emulator
but I tried it anyway and works fine,
eventually I tested the .ISO and it mounts flawlessly,
so I'm sure You won't have any problem installing it.

Once again, Thanks to Balrog for converting the file

Virtual DVD-ROM/CD Utility is a nice tool that has almost none of the bloat of Toast. It requires Mac OS 7.6 or newer, though.

Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' by 'Mac OS 7' - IIGS User
