Walking between games?

Well, I *thought* Cyberflix´'Dust' was on of the two but I was wrong. I think.

This about two adventure games from the same developer/publisher were you could at one point in the game walk over into the other/later if you had it installed.

Both are point-and-click and from the 90´s sometime.

The first game sets you off on Easter Island and you have a camera to take pictures which are your hints to solve the puzzles. After a while you walk down the beach and into a cove. Somewhere here is the 'hot spot' where you passes between the 'worlds'. If you continue into the caves you face the place where you travel between the worlds where you have to solve your tasks.

There´s no interaction to other caracters IIRC.

The other/later games is more vague. I *think* it is set in the Wild West but I´m not even close to certain about it.

Anyone have some idea which games I´m ranting about?

Yeah first game is called Time Lapse which Ive had for quite awhile now. Though its 4CD game, and my internet connection is dead slow. Dont think I'll have much luck adding it anytime soon. x)

I also have this other game you may be talking about its called Welcome to the Future. similar to time lapse but more simplistic yet more photo realistic and only 1CD bout 660mb? Its set in a kinda desert scene (wild west). They're pretty much basic Myst games without character interaction.

Heh, never been around the world on those premises but I´d love to here more those 7 'openings'. Sounds a bit like Dante´s 'Inferno' or Verne´s 'A Journey to the Center of the Earth'.

They're pretty much basic Myst games without character interaction.

Exactly how I remember them. I really don´t have the time but…

I´m off to the disk cabinet to check this out.

Just slightly off-topic,

It's strange that you mention a cove on the beach on Easter Island in the adventure. Before I had children, I used to travel, a lot. Been to Easter Island twice. The last time I went to the beach - there is only one beach, on the far side f the island from Hanga Roa, all the rest is rocky cliffs. There is a cove along from the beach. So what ? you all think. Well the sun had a definite double ring around it, to the naked eye and definite enough that I was able to photograph it clearly. Never seen it anywhere else in the world.
Easter Island is also one of the 7 legendary "tunnels" to the core of the Earth. There's one in Guatemala (been to it), one in the USA, one in France, one on the Chile / Bolivia border (been there), and two more in Asia (can't remember).

So the connection with another game set on one of these locations sounds possible.

Mutant beach is kinda like that has many different types of rocks like the ones on Easter Island.

I can think of a couple more though, one I remember its a kids game called Zoombinis Logical journey.
One of the activities involved the Easter Island heads.

And the other one? Theres godda be one, they're strangely coming all back to me but still on the tip of my nose. Godda be some puzzle game about rock shaped heads with legs moving or gliding round a bored of some sort... Now im lost

one I remember its a kids game called Zoombinis Logical journey

AKA The Logical Journey of the Zoombinis. I used to work for the company that localized it to Spanish. I never knew there was a Mac version, though. Do you still have it?

I remembered today that they were called "navels", the one in the USA is at a secret location (allegedly where there is many billions of dollars worth of gold bullion.

There is a hybrid version only, yeah I know where to buy it. I wonder if the shop still has it, or I could just buy from an online trading site.

Probably cheaper on the shelf though!

Can´t really recall 'Welcome to the Future' as the game you could enter from 'Time Lapse'. It´s still a very strong picture of a Western town of some kind where you came from the 'hot spot'. Seem to remember I read about it a press release or something from the company about this 'feature'. Logically it ought to be the game made previous to 'Time Lapse' so it should be stated in a list over published/developed games from that company…
More time to spend which I don´t have. Oh well…

I've ben hunting down Timelapse for a few days solid now. Unfortunately, the discs are not hybrid. It was also published by another company - with an OS9 / OSX version, carbonised I think - a few years after GTE went under.

Can you make copies of the original CDs ? And mail them ? I'll pay.

I´ve got the original 'Timelapse' PC-version published by Philips Interactive and developed by GTE Entertainment, which I presume is the original release. If you can, it would be interesting to get the name of the carbonized rerelease for Mac.
I´ll have to check my Mac discs as they originated from the HL-era as dl´s. I don´t think they´re "ripped" or something, but just in case.

It was re-published by Hammerhead Entertainment, part of Barracuda Inc (both now also out of business). Hammerhead re-released it, along with a re-release of Titanic: An Adventure Out of Time. They also included the official strategy guide with the purchase.

I've got Titanic: An Adventure Out of Time (2 cd's). It sold 1.5m copies worldwide (Mac and PC). Timelapse sold over 250,000 copies (Mac and PC). It shouldn't be impossible to find a copy for Mac somewhere.

I thought j_damage•69 had a copy too.

Yes I have the original 4 CDs, its the Mac only version. Though I'm from New Zealand, sending burnt CDs off to someone maybe a hassle. Tell me what you think?

How about a upload somewhere or login on a .Mac-account, if available? BTW checked the discs of my HL-dl of the Mac-version and they seemed fine (it´s the GTE-release).

The GTE Entertainment version is ideal. Beggars can't be choosers.

Which came up earlier this week - completely off track, trying to clear out a lot of stuff at home. Including some very large CRT Sony and Hitachi TV's. Tried a charity that takes electrical goods to help re-house those with nothing. My TVs are in perfect working order and excellent condition, from about 2002 (I worked abroad until 2005 and I bought a new flat-screen when I got back) so these are pretty much as good as new.
Bertyboy: "I have 2 large wide-screen CRT TV's from 2002 in perfect condition, with original stands, remotes and all the manuals. If you don't collect, I can drop them off. Can you help me?"
Charty rep: "Sorry we don't take TV's more than 4 years old."

Who gives away a TV less than 4 years old ? I'll end up putting them outside on the street with a big sign "Working". They'll disappear in a few hours.

Draw up the list. I also have a mountain of stuff, from my wild buying days from 1990-1996, when you bought Mac software whenever you could get it (at least in Europe anyway). Only those who lived through this would understand. No internet searches or tetailers, you bought whatever was advertised in your MacUser / MacWorld.

I tried to upload Shivers last night got to 91%) then I must have tried to start another upload. It killed both uploads dead. Not make that mistake tonight.

Jeez j_damage•69, that's some list. I already have the two LSL, the Labyrinth of Time, Doom II, Warcraft II, Quake II and Escape From Monkey Island.

After TimeLapse, I wouldn't know where to begin with the others. Maybe just the big ones, so I can upload them, So TimeLapse and RedJack. Even then that's a lot of CDs. Especially if I have to hide them coming back through Singapore / Middle East, and back into the UK.
