Question, I can't seem to save. Whenever I go to save a file, the button is grayed out and won't let me actually create a new save file. Any workarounds?
**Also, I did indeed have to set my clock to 1991 to work. Go figure...
I found this on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kings-Quest-VI-Heir-Today-Gone-Tomorrow-Mac-1992.... Is there a Mac cd version of the game?
It is a great adventure. Too bad it does not support Roland MT32 like King's Quest 5. It has great music.
That's not copy protection; that was a bug in the Macintosh release!
My sister and I bought this game back in the day, and luckily I was on a local BBS where a patch was distributed for the Macintosh SCI binary. Sierra left some code in the Mac port of the KQ6 interpreter that prevented the game from running after sometime in late 1993.
Workaround: set your emulated system clock to sometime in 1991 or 1992. Easier than finding that patch nowadays. :\
Also: this was the pinnacle of the KQ series IMHO. I love KQ1-5 but KQ6 is so rich with its beautiful graphics and music.
Could it be that this is some kind of copy protection?
I think sierra released only the floppy version for mac.
This copy is broken unfortunately. Does anyone know if Sierra released the CD version for Mac, or was it only the floppy disk version?
i have the same problem
In the emulators, in the game screen I only see the msg "The entire work is" (the game begins with), it'll not continue...
