Ambrosia Software

Ambrosia Software is shutting down. If anyone is willing to link their EV: Nova game I'd greatly appriciate it. I used to have it, but a hard drive crash corrupted nearly everything.

Thank you!

Are they really shutting down? They still look open for business to me.

This is ominous. Ambrosia has employed an expiring license key scheme for many years. I've had to contact them several times for updated keys when I've had disk crashes.

I complained to them when they first introduced the scheme but I got no where. Their response was "We will ALWAYS be in business and we keep flawless records of your purchases".

The Mac Observer asked Mr. Welch what was going on and he said, "People were indeed laid off, however, the company is not folding." He added that Ambrosia is still selling and supporting its products.

The problem is they are not still supporting their products and they are instead selling off all assets. I've attempted to contact the company by email, phone, and forum and this is the only response I got:

"Ambrosia Software is shutting down, there's only a skeleton crew around at the moment as they sell off the remaining assets. There will be no support available for licence key retrieval."

I just read your posts on that forum. It seems you also have problems downloading the demo. I tried the download and i had no problems. 90.1MB file.

You have to admit, it doesn't look good. Thank heavens I just got my entire collection of serials sent to me recently (they DO have flawless records of purchases, their database of software activations has crashed before tho).

Sorry to here of that closure.

OT: as to the Fixed Hard Disk Drive crash;

This is the reason that it is always drilled in:

Always keep backups up to date.
And Always keep hard copies of all source code, and documents.

Though sorry to hear about your crash.

This is also the reason that we will never be free of paper, though I use a fiberglass/Poly composite paper to help save trees.
