Spaceward Ho is still being sold by Delta Tao and currently it's version 5.

You can download a demo in a .sit(which does work in sheepshaver) or a .dmg file.

I think people on this site are too picky at what versions of games they upload.... I say, if the game is old no matter if it still being sold or not. Upload it!!! Its not like the developers are gonna do much about it for such old games they're still selling.

Also, don't just replace old versions with more recent ones! Instead, stick both in an archive. That way both will be preserved.

I agree with Balrog's comment 110%. I've seen situations where files would be replaced with floppy disk images replacing a CD image. Both should be included in the archive. Download what's on the site already, and add your content to it - then re-upload. Please do not wipe out other versions / copies.

That section already exist. See Games we're looking for.

They have to be. Some versions of the same application are 68k compatible while newer version are not. A good example of this problem is BBEdit Lite 4.6 and BBEdit Lite 6.1.2.

Also, don't just replace old versions with more recent ones! Instead, stick both in an archive.

Wouldn't that make the archive unnecesarily too big? (See StuffIt Deluxe) Then again, people might get confused if there are too many pages for a single application, even though there's a good reason to have all different versions of it. I guess the solution would be to allow more than one download link per page, but that's another matter.

If the game's still being sold, then no matter how old it is, it's not abandonware and shouldn't be uploaded. This site is not for pirated stuff.

Well, unless it's shareware or a demo ... shareware that is still sold is allowed if the unlocking key isn't included (if there is one). Some shareware is based on the honor system; that's allowed.

I'm not sure what's the consensus on demos. They do take server space.

About multiple uploads, I'm not sure when that will be implemented, and I'm not sure how to do it myself. Keep asking, I guess :) !

I was just thinking out loud. If that feature is implemented, I see people abusing it to bypass the 400 MB limit on uploads. But between having multiple versions of an application on a single, huge file and each having its own page explaining their specific system requirements, I prefer the later.

Well, unless it's shareware or a demo.

Shareware allows free distribution for non-commercial purposes, so it's fine.

I do see a case when uploading demos is good, and that's when the game's too big to be uploaded. Diablo comes to mind.
