This has happened before. I am dealing with this aggressively.
I have changed the settings to require approval for anonymous / unverified comments, so those of you with moderator privileges should watch the queue.

I've been clearing some of the "bot" comments. I think we should turn anonymous comments off. It's not worth the time involved in "cleaning" and anyone who really was interested in retro mac software would be willing to make an account.

Such comments go into a queue. They never get on the pages.
It seems that at this point anonymous comments aren't the problem; the CAPTCHAs seem to be helping. BUT because there was no CAPTCHA for registration, many people were registering and posting "unverified." I've taken measures to prevent this.
Please give the system a few days for the accounts that are still unverified to be purged.
