Hellp Doom 1 and 2 from ID Software crashes!!!

I Just played ID Soft'S Doom because Im a fan of 1st person shooters and RavenSoft but it just stopped and went to sleep when a couple of dudes were shooting at me!! and I click the mouse button and nothing happened, so I clicked the power button and it was shut down unproperly!!!! (like when you type startx) and Disk First Aid said: ERROR Problems where foud but DFS cannot repair them
Some times it also happends with Russian Tetris and my web browser and MacMan says it runned out of memory but I have 128Mb of RAM and 126Mb of HD virtual RAM!! HOW ON EARTH could this happend to me

It sounds to like there is a hardware error with the "6GB Maxtor HD" (I read your Guestbook entry). You might need to think about finding a replacement HD.

You could try DiskWarrior from the MG, it might be able to help, but if it cannot fix the HD errors either, then you really should consider finding a replacment for that hard drive. Especially while it is still accessable and you can recover some or all of the files from the drive.

If repairing the drive fails, look for a replacement IDE drive of about 40 - 80 GB, which is a pretty good size drive for your Bondi blue iMac...

[Edit] Eeps! Sorry. It appears Disk Warrior has been removed from the above links page as its still being sold by its owners

If you cannot repair the HD with current tools because of disk errors, it is only a matter of time before the HD will fail totally. So do look into finding a replacement for the drive while you still have access to its files.

Thankyou so much for trying to help bro!, but at this time im not sure it would be the best option to buy a new drive, but I will consider it
By the way I don´t think all HDs are compatible (I heard SCSI are)

You can get a 120GB ATA-133 5400rpm for $10. That's assuming your in the U.S., which might not be a good estimate.

No, your iMac will require an IDE hard drive. Also referred to as ATA, or EIDE (ATA-3), or PATA.

Your iMac does not support internal SCSI drives

As for compatibility, you can pull an IDE drive from an old PC and re-format as Mac HFS+ once you place it into the iMac. Using a system boot CD, boot up from the CD and use the Drive Setup tools on the CD to reformat.
