Hey people. I'm writing a how-to guide for uploading stuff over here but my experience with System 6 has been limited at best, so I wonder if Mini vMac users can give me a hand with that topic. Tell me the best way to package and compress files to be used on System 6 and earlier, including what software would you use. Thanks.

That's a good Idea since I still don't know what version of Stuffit works in System 6
I tried several but none of them work so I have to,
-First load the Sys 6 disk Image in other Emulator (SoftMac)
-Unstuff the B/W games in the Mac OS 7.6 environment and then just copy them to the Sys 6 disk Img. close SoftMac.
-Start up miniVMac with the games already unstuffed.
that's a lot of steps.

StuffIt 4.0 was the last version compatible with System 6. Had you tried it? It's available on the StuffIt Deluxe page.

Nobody got a hint? It's no wonder why there are so many troublesome System 6 archives in here. Never mind, people. I figured out my own way. Thanks for at least showing that you care, Euryale.

I tried Stuffit 4 and it works on some, but on other .sit files it seems like it expands but the actual game/app folder disappears or doesn't show,
I think I'll keep using the SoftMac Emulator for expanding System 6-B/W games.

That's because there are plenty of System 6 games stuffed with versions of DropStuff that are not compatible with System 6.
Hoppefully, if people follow my guide, that won't be a problem anymore, because all System 6 software will be uploaded as DiskDup+ images that can be expanded from Mac OS X or Windows and mounted as floppies within vMac/Mini vMac. That should eliminate the need of a second emulator.
