I have about 30 JPEG files that open fine on my Powermac G4 with PictureViewer but on a PowerBook G4, PictureViewer says they are corrupted.
The same files open fine using Photoshop on both computers.
Both computers are running 9.2.2.

From my own experience I have gathered that PictureViewer may develop quirks from time to time. It may have something to do with codecs or decompressors. I have never work out exactly what these decompressors are and where they are stored. In some cases an issue can be resolved by uninstalling Quicktime using the installer, and then reinstalling it, making sure that the needed components are selected. The recommended install option is usually sufficient.
