Several "MG" games unrecognized by toast?

Heya!

I'm new here and have been downloading some of my favourite childhood games from the Garden over the past few weeks - I've reached the bigger "disc image" downloads like Civ: Call to Power and such, which I am having some trouble with...

Right now I am running everything in Sheepshaver (while I get my "new" iMac G3 up and runnning), along with the last possible version of Toast for OS9 (If memory serves), and it won't recognize a lot of the discs I've downloaded here.

What am I doing wrong exactly? I'd hate to waste bandwidth on repeat downloads without some checksum comparisons (which are unfortunately not available on MG for most of the games I'm having trouble with)

Toast isn't ideal for mounting games - this tiny utility is much better.

You mentioned "Civ Call to Power" as one of the downloads you were having trouble with. That one is a bin/cue pair and you cannot mount it. You have to burn a physical CD. Toast 7 will do this OK.

Well actually, Toast managed to convert the bin/cue (Just the bin actually) into a toast/iso format, which made it mount just fine.

Also managed to mount the .dsk format by renaming it... er... was it .sit? Anyway, all of my issues have been worked out. Smile

Glad you are happy, Mansen. However the iso format will not contain the audio partition that goes with the full CD...you have to burn a CD for that. It may be that there is some audio on the iso image but it will not be the full audio that goes with the CD

Doesn't matter here - None of the games I've had any issues with keep their music in CDDA. Smile

Edit: Ah - Turns out Call to Power does have some CDDA tracks in one of the download versions. I'll give that mounting tool a go and see how it goes.
