The issue is with your XP host, I suppose?
I recall, you have to set sound output to "built in" by selecting or clicking on it in some MacOS.
Do you have a sound output or just a flashing menu bar?
Certainly there are some threads at Emaculation about sound too.
Well, not only. Also under AmigaOS3.9 (but this is also emulated under WinUAE on my XP host). Built-in sound output is selected and I have sound output but very loud. I can't neither change sound level (this is always on max level) not mute it.
Wow - UAE the "UnusableAmigaEmulator"
Usually I had issues with sound NOT playing in emulation and/or certain games.
Did you build your 7.5.5 image from scratch or is it a ready made internet finding?
Some preconfigured images may have missing system files.
TataMisia´s image however, lets me adjust volume with BII on 10.6.8, XP or Windows7.
Can you try a different ROM to exclude that possibility, occasionally?
I would also delete/renew BII´s prefs files and the Mac´s PRAM, dektop files and sound prefs, just to make sure.
Well...I think it is a bug in newer versions Basilisk II. Both versions (from 30.08.2010 and from 15.01.2010) have the same problem with sound as I've described above. This doesn't appear in Basilisk II 142 (from 2008). This problem doesn't appear under Shapeshifter 3.11 under AmigaOS 3.9 also.
