Techspansion VisualHub ?

OK, it's very, very recent software (2007). But it is most definitely the very definition of abandonware.

Is this something we should be hosting here to preserve it for the future ?

It's also extremely, extremely useful software. Used to take me 25 hours to re-encode an hour of HD (720p) video into H264 mp4 for AppleTV, on my dual 1GHz MDD. VisualHub does the same on my Mac Pro in just over 6 minutes. If I had one of the new 2010 12-core Mac Pros, it would be 3 minutes.

Is there a version of it that'll run under Mac OS 7, 8 or 9? That might be a candidate. Otherwise, I'm not so sure.

Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' with 'Mac OS 7' - IIGS User

Not that I know of, it's not worth running on anything less than Intel.

I'll say again, it is the very definition of abandonware, as described by the original publisher.

In my opinion: Its abandonware fully. As you say.

If uploaded, it can be removed if the author or distributer objects, but I think that good Macintosh software should be archived for posterity; Somewhere.

Its for Macintosh and it has been officially abandoned. Gets my OK.

Maybe you need to contact its developer. Techspansion is no more. If you get okayed to upload it here, do it, that s would be cool.
